Sick of Goving or Cor-bean?

And by Goving we don’t mean supporting the man himself but by this alternative definition of “staring stupidly” which is probably what the bulk majority of Londoners and have been doing since last Friday. So we have some beans in honour of Corbean and vine tomatoes this week (as a tribute for MG’s wifey Sarah Vine’s role in adding to the very Greek, oops sorry we meant Shakespearean tragedy we now find ourselves in).

According to the president of the National Farmers’ Union “we only produce 60% of the food we consume, we’ve seen our self sufficiency fall dramatically, so we are very dependent on imported food.” So all the more reason to be buying local, and UK sourced produce.

In any case, there’s always hope at the end of the tunnel, however long it may seem, and maybe some Irish gold at the end of your rainbodw (chard). More seriously, if you’re wondering how to cook it, do check out our Bright Rainbow Lights post from awhile back. And enjoy the salad items in your box this week in a spot of dryness!
